The basic Aces and Eights strategy is fairly simple, much like Jacks or Better strategy. There are at least 5 different pay tables, so in combination with playing the correct strategy, you need to find a machine with the best pay table. Here are the basic pay tables and payback percentages so you can quickly see if a machine has a favorable pay back.

If you hold any of the following hands, do not draw any cards: Royal Flush Straight Flush Full House Flush Straight
If you hold any of these hands, draw 1 card:
4 cards to a royal flush 4 of a kind 4 cards to a straight flush 2 pair 4 card flush with 4 card straight with at least 3 high cards 4 card open end straight
With these hands draw 2 cards: 3 of a kind 3 card royal flush 3 card straight flush 3 card straight with 3 high cards
Draw 3 cards with these hands: 1 pair 2 cards to a royal flush 2 high cards
If you have these hands draw 4 cards: 1 high card
With everything else draw 5 new cards. The easiest way to determine what to do is start at the top of the list, read down and stop as soon as you find your hand.
